«The Spur» talks about artists in residency and good practices in the IX International Conferences, held in Irun
Today «The Spur» project will offer a conference in the Irun Factory (Basque Country) titled «The Spur. European artists in residence and good practices». The conference, directed by Ms. Carme Sais, Bòlit, Centre d’Art Contemporani. Girona‘s director, takes place in the frame of the IX International Conferences organized by Ciudades Creativas Kreanta within the European project «Singular routes».
Ms. Carme Sais conference will be focused in The Spur’s Action 2. Innovation, in which the residency periods for artists are taking place. In this way, the highlights of the conference will be the creative residencies and the good practices developed by The Spur in this area, as well as the innovating way of carrying out the artists’ training (trough expert mentoring), international mobility and the different experiences of creative residencies, like Professional residency in company, Residency as a user of a shop-workshop or Resident artists in contemporary art spaces.
The IX International Conferences, made up with the support of the Irun City Council, are being developed since yesterday and will offer more speeches until tomorrow. Ciudades Creativas Kreanta is collaborating with «Singular routes» project in order to strengthen its European aspect and with the aim to increase its city-city cooperation projects to the field of the cross-border between France and Spain. Likewise, this collaboration also takes place because of the willpower for increase the opportunities of the middle and little size cities to become city models for creating innovation spaces and new development forms of exploration in the filed of the public and local politics.
